Weapons and Buy Menus
AWP
The AWP is a powerful bolt-action sniper rifle available to both teams. It is infamously renowned for being able to instantly kill a player with one hit on any part of the body except for the legs. For this reason, the AWP is one of the most popular and widely used weapons in the Counter-Strike series.
The AWP is a heavy weapon. When the player is holding the AWP, the player slows down. since the AWP scoped in makes you slower then you holding the AWP without it being scoped in and only looking in a small area, it is good to have someone protecting you while you are using the AWP so no one can easily kill you when you are scoped in. It is also recommended to switch to your secondary or pistol if you are going to engage in a close range battle with someone while you have an AWP on you.
Some strategies with an AWP is that when you fire you press your switch key twice which is "Q" on default settings to cancel the animation and allows you to fire your AWP again quicker. The AWP has a $100 kill reward in Competitive and $50 in Casual.

SSG 08 (Nickname: Scout)
Like the AWP the Scout is a bolt-action rifle. Unlike the AWP, the Scout is lighter and doesn't really decrease your speed, hence the nickname "Scout". The Scout is NOT a one hit kill anywhere except the head. When jumping the Scout is accurate unlike the AWP.
Most of the strategies with the Scout are similar to the AWP like have a pistol with you when engaging in a close ranged battle and pressing the switch key twice to cancel the animation. The Scout has a $300 kill reward on Competitive and $150 on Casual.
AK-47
The AK-47 is a terrorist side weapon (Meaning only the terrorist can buy them, not the counter-terrorists). The AK-47 is a loud AR (Assault Rifle) and very powerful but also inaccurate. Due to the AK-47 being inaccurate you can get some very lucky headshots with it. The best way to use an AK-47 is to learn the spray pattern to make it accurate.
Some strategies with the AK-47 involves around using grenades mostly using the Flashbang, while your enemy is flashed or stunned you can aim at them and kill them before they can see again.
M4A4 / M4A1-S (Nicknames: A4 (M4A4) , A1 (M4A1-S), M4 (Used for both) )
The M4 is the counter-terrorist version of the AK-47. Unlike the AK-47 the M4 is more accurate. There are 2 types of M4s the M4A4 and the M4A1-S, the difference between the two are that the A4 has 30 bullets and 90 re-loadable bullets and the A1 has 20 bullets and 40 re-loadable bullets and the A1 has a silencer and more accurate than the A4.
Strategies for the A4 and the A1 are different. Strategies for the A4 involve being aggressive or offensive like going straight into a battle. strategies for the A1 are the complete opposite, staying in a site to defend it, waiting out enemies and baiting them to you so you can shoot them.
FAMAS
The FAMAS is a counter-terrorist weapon that has a 3-round burst fire and automatic modes in it. The FAMAS is like the cheap version of the M4, you can defend and be aggressive with it.
The FAMAS in close combat, it is good to have the 3-round burst fire mode on because if how fast it shoots 3 bullets, and in long range it's good to have it on automatic because how how inaccurate the 3-round burst is at long range.
G3SG1 / SCAR-20 (Nickname: Auto (Used for both) )
The Auto is a heavy sniper rifle that has a semi-automatic mode in it (Semi-automatic means you can't hold down the fire button to rapid fire but you can hit the fire button multiple times to make it automatic). The T-side (Terrorists) and CT-side (Counter-Terrorists) have different Autos. The T-side has the G3SG1 and the CT-side has the SCAR-20. The difference between the two Autos are that the G3SG1 has a slower reload time than the SCAR-20.
There aren't really many strategies with the Autos because they aren't really used much by the people in the CS:GO community, but there are some strategies in it like to watch over an area where the enemy team usually rushes (Ex: Dust II B-rush) and shoot them from a long distance so you can kill them but they can't see/kill you.
Most of the strategies with the Scout are similar to the AWP like have a pistol with you when engaging in a close ranged battle and pressing the switch key twice to cancel the animation. The Scout has a $300 kill reward on Competitive and $150 on Casual.

Heavy
Nova
The Nova is a low recoil shotgun that does heavy damage but with a low rate of fire. In one shot the nova fires 12 bullets, which can one-shot someone in close range. The Nova isn't a weapon you would want to use in long range because as the bullets get fired, the bullets spread apart, decreasing the damage given to the target.
In tight/close range maps it would be good to use the Nova because of how cheap it is and the map is tight so you wouldn't have to worry about going into a long ranged battle with the Nova. It is good to have good reflexes and reaction time with a Nova because when you are walking in a hall and someone appears next to you, with good reflexes and reaction time you can easily turn and *BOOM* off with the head.
XM1014
The XM1014 is another close range shotgun weapon, similar to he nova. But don't be fooled by the fact that they are both shotguns, the XM1014 has a few key differences that set them apart. It has a much faster rate of fire than the Nova, allowing a faster elimination of the target it also contains more ammo, and allows the user to partially reload it for quick tactical situations. This weapon will serve well at close range, but it's high rate of fire also allows for longer ranged combat. Choose you target carefully!
Sawed-Off / MAG-7
The Sawed-Off and MAG-7 are shotguns and counterparts of each other. The Sawed-Off is used on T-side while the MAG-7 is used on CT-side. Like the Nova they both have a low rate of fire and high damage. Again having good reaction time and good reflexes is ideal when using shotguns. Also using these shotguns at long range can give you a hard time killing the enemy so use these weapons wisely!
M249
The M249 is the 2nd most heaviest weapon in CS:GO. The M249 has a slow reload time and in exchange for it's weight and slow reload time it carries a 100 bullets in one round and is accurate, but also has low damage. You can use the M249 to stop enemy rushes into sights by going to the area they are rushing and hold down the fire button to release the 100 bullets and massacre the enemies in the rush.
Negev
The Negev is like the M249 but with 150 bullet rounds, faster rate of fire, more damage but also is heavier than the M249. The strategies with the Negev are the same as the M249 but with the Negev you can spray at the enemies longer because it has 150 bullet rounds instead of the 100 bullet rounds that the M249 has.

SMGs (Sub-Machine guns)
Mac-10 / MP9
The Mac-10 and MP9 are counterparts of eachother, the Mac-10 for T-side and MP9 for CT-side. The Mac-10 and MP9 are popular choices for the 2nd round of a half because they are both really cheap, but if you lose the 2nd round you're gonna have to save because you bought 2nd round when you didn't really have much money.
PP-Bizon (Nickname: Bizon)
The PP-Bizon is also a popular choice for the 2nd round of a half because of it's 64 bullet round. The PP-Bizon isn't really good for rounds when the enemy can full buy because the PP-Bizon has the lowest armor penetration in the game. The PP-Bizon also has a really fast reload time so you don't have to worry about enemies getting you when you are reloading.
MP7
The MP7 is a sub machine-gun used on both CT and T sides. The MP7 is also another popular choice to buy on the 2nd round of a half. In one magazine the MP7 carries 30 bullets and also has decent armor penetration so it is also good on save rounds when the enemy buys armor.
P90
The P90 is a fast-firing sub-machine gun available to both teams. It is infamously renowned for being able to quickly kill a player. For this reason, the P90 is popular and widely used weapon in the Counter-Strike series. The P90 is a light weapon. When the player is holding the P90, the player moves at an average pace. Some strategies with a P90 is that when you fire you pull down so the recoil hits the desired target.

Glock-18
The Glock is the starting pistol of the T-side. The Glock like the FAMAS has two modes; 3-round burst fire and semi-automatic. The Glock has a big magazine clip of 20 bullets and 120 reloadable bullets.
USP-S / P2000 (Nicknames: P2k (P2000 Only) )
The USP-S and P2k are the interchangeable starting pistols for the CT-side. The difference between the USP-S and P2k is that the USP-S has a silencer and the P2k doesn't have a silencer you can spray with it and has one more bullet in it's magazine.
P250
The P250 is a pistol that can be bought on bot CT-side and T-side for $300 and is a popular choice for players that don't like to spray they're pistols. The P250 is accurate and has 13 bullets in it's magazine and 26 reloadable bullets.
Dual Berettas
The Dual Berettas is a dual pistol has has a high rate of fire and has a low reload time. For the price of having low reload time and a high rate of fire the damage has been decreased. Because of this the Dual Berettas are also widely used in pistol rounds.
Five-seveN
The Five-seveN is a CT-side pistol that has a lot of bullets in it's magazine with over 100 reloadable bullets. The Five-seveN is usually for people who like the P250 but like to spray, also less accurate than the P250.
Tec-9
The Tec-9 is a T-side "pistol" and the counterpart of the Five-seveN. Some people say the Tec-9 is OP (Overpowered) because it has a lot of armor penetration and damage. People also say It has the damage of the deagle, spray of the Dual Berettas, bullet capacity of the Glock-18 and the accuracy of the P250 making it an OP weapon on pistol rounds and normal rounds.
CZ75-Auto (Nickname: CZ)
The CZ is a pistol available to both CT-side and T-side. The CZ can be interchangable with the T-side's Tec-9 and the CT-side's Five-seveN. The CZ is an automatic pistol with 12 bullets and 24 reloadable bullets, because of it's low bullet capacity people don't usually use it and you have to be careful when you use it because when you run out of bullets you can't use it anymore until the next round or you pick up another CZ or a different pistol.
Desert Eagle (Nickname: Deagle)
The Deagle is a pistol available to both T-side and CT-side. The Deagle has a low bullet magazine with only 7 bullets and 35 reloadable bullets. Usually you'll see people in the higher ranks use the Deagle because of it's low accuracy and the people in the higher ranks can aim it pretty well and use it decently.
